Amantani Island

Description of the Program.

Day 01: Uros – Amantani

Early contact in their respective hotels and then they are transferred to the port of Lake Titicaca, where the guide will be waiting for them together with the boat to start our adventure. The first visit will be to the floating islands of the Uros, here we will stop at one of the Islands, visit its inhabitants and we will learn about the customs of these communities who live for years in the Highlands. Later we will continue our trip en route to Amantani Island. The boat trip takes about 3 hours. Our arrival will be received by groups of islanders who we provide hosting in their homes at the same time we will be waiting with the lunch typical of the area. After lunch, you can visit the Hill of Pachatata, which is located on an archaeological site built by the ancient cultures that inhabited the island for a long time. Returning in the afternoon is free to explore on your own or simply to share with the family or know the town, and rest.

Day 02: Amantani – Taquile Island – Puno

Typical breakfast, then we will descend to the spring to continue our visit to the island of Taquile. The trip will last approximately one hour. Taquile is a huge Island characterized by its beautiful fabrics, here visitors can see how the people of the island made ponchos, belts, gloves, and other items typical high Andean, all made by hand. To get to the top of the island, you will have to walk along a beautiful path, somewhat inclined that offers spectacular scenery of the Lake. Lunch in a typical restaurant around the square, after lunch, visitors will have free time to visit the workshops on tissues and take pictures with the Islanders. Later we will descend towards the dock and embark on our journey back to Puno, arriving at the city approximately at 17:00.

Itinerary

Day 01 : Uros Floating Islands – Overnight on Amantani Island:
- Early contact in the hotel for transfer to the port.
- When you arrive, you will board the boat and begin your adventure on the highest lake in the world.
- Visit of the floating islands of the Uros for a duration of 02 hours.
- Explanation of the way they build their floating islands, customs and selling their works.
- Then you will continue to Amantani Island located at 3800 meters above sea level.
- On arrival, the local people wait for you with joy and invite you to their house.
- Typical lunch to share with the members of the Andean family.
- In the afternoon you will visit the Pachatata and Pachapapa viewpoints, important ceremonial sites of the place.
- Dinner with the family, then they can visit the streets and share moments of happiness in the main square.
Day 02 : Amantani – Taquile Island – Puno:
- Typical family breakfast.
- Start of the trip to Taquile Island, duration 01 hours and 30 minutes.
- Arriving at the island you will have to ascend by a steep way by space of 01 hours, in the course of the way you will observe much male communal weaving their own clothes.
- Arriving at the highest point of the Plaza, you will observe wonderful views of Lake Titicaca, impressive views, without a doubt an incomparable natural beauty.
- Typical lunch in the local area.
- Return to Puno and transfer to your hotel.
